Started boxing at age 16 with an amateur record of 4-1, competed in the 2002 Toughman contest. Picked up Muay Thai after training for my first mma fight. Trained at both Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket, Thailand and the prestigious Mikes Gym in Amsterdam. Two time amateur runner-up. Amateur record of 2-2 and pro record of 0-2.
